A workout tracker built around progressive overload
Overload is a free progressive-overload workout tracker. Instead of guessing what to lift, you log your sets and Overload tells you exactly when to add weight or reps — so every session you beat the last. It works whether you train at home with dumbbells or in a fully-equipped gym.
What you get
- Automatic progression. Double-progression logic adds weight when you clear your rep range and manages deloads when you stall.
- Workouts for your equipment. Home, Small gym, or Full gym — each picks the right exercise per muscle, and saves your layout per workout.
- Ready-made splits. Push, Pull, Legs, Upper, Lower, Arms, Abs, or build a custom session from any muscle groups.
- Strong-style logging. A clean set-by-set table with a rest timer, plate calculator for barbell lifts, and drag-to-reorder.
- PRs and progress charts. Personal records, estimated 1RM, and volume tracked and charted over time.
- Smart starting weights. Suggested loads based on your bodyweight, height, and experience for any new exercise.
How it works
Pick a split, and Overload builds the session for your equipment. Log each set as you go — the weight you entered carries down the sets, and a tap marks them complete. When you finish, Overload applies progression, records personal records, and saves the workout. Next time, your weights and reps are already filled in, so you just show up and push for more. Learn the method in our progressive overload guide.
Frequently asked questions
What is Overload?
Overload is a free workout tracker built around progressive overload. You log your sets each session and it automatically tells you when to add weight or reps, so every workout you're chasing a number you can beat.
Is Overload free?
Yes. Overload is free to use. Create an account to sync across devices, or continue as a guest to keep everything on your device.
Do I need a gym?
No. Set your equipment level — Home (dumbbells, bands, bodyweight), Small gym (barbell and rack), or Full gym (machines and cables) — and Overload picks the best exercise for each muscle at your level. Home workouts never include barbell lifts.
How does the automatic weight progression work?
Overload uses double progression: you work in a rep range, and once you hit the top of the range for all sets, it adds weight and resets your reps. If you stall, it suggests a deload (drop the weight or switch to a top-set-plus-back-off scheme).
Does it track personal records and progress?
Yes. Overload tracks your heaviest set, best estimated one-rep max, and best volume per exercise, flags new PRs when you set them, and charts estimated 1RM, top weight, and volume over time.
